Love sport, love anything competitive. Tired of chasing a ball around a small grass pitch.

I have been racing for a number of years now and have gradually gained experience and endurance fitness. Started with the MDS and Desert Cup in 2001 and then got into AR proper. I have had a great time racing with team Aberdeen Asset Management for the last 5 years now and we have done some great races together including the Adrenalin Rush (2nd) and the Southern Traverse (5th) both in 2003. We competed at the AR worlds Champs in Newfoundland in 2004 coming 10th and again in New Zealand in 2005. Highlight so far was winning the Wilderness ARC in 2005 and 2006 with a great group of people, in beautiful scenary and on a great course. We have high expectations for 2008 and beyond.

I come from a mountain biking background, having completed many Polaris and 24 hour races in every configuration from elite team to solo. Got into the adventure racing thing after Jon Brooke’s article on the Hebridean Challenge inspired me to enter a team in 2002. Rode Red Bull 24 hour MTB race solo as training, the youngest soloist to date, but it was nothing compared to some of the great races I’ve done since. Have won Strathpuffer 24 MTB race, Edinburgh and London Rat Race and raced 4 x Hebridean Challenges, 3 x Wilderness ARC, 3 x Bergson Winter Challenge, The Turas and DTU in Denmark amongst many others.

I’m a Scottish runner turned duathlete/Adventure Racer. I was introduced to the insane but addictive world of adventure racing through some nutty friends…… I can now say that I am well and truely hooked – thanks you lot!

I’m an Aberdeenshire lassie, but am currently based down in Glasgow seeing what’s what over on the West side of the country.

I have been orienteering since I was a wee nipper and have raced at international level on many occasions. Having suffered a leg injury a few years ago I have been concentrating on my mountain biking and mountain bike orienteering. (Both coming along nicely!), and have made the move to adventure racing which involves all the sports i love.

It all started for me in a cow shed in North Wales. My friend Pete James had done a few races and I thought they looked good. Saw the ad for an Ace Race in Trail and though I’ll give that a go. Had broken my leg 6 months before so wasn’t in good shape and hadn’t biked 5 hours for years. By the end of the weekend I’d finished 2nd and was hooked. Loads of races later and I am still hooked !

Cheryl is a newcomer to adventure racing but has so far excelled in her first two events, winning the Saab Salomon Mountain X Race and London Rat Race. She has a 100% record of victories that she hopes to continue with Aberdeen Asset Management!
